Kristin Hevner is an award-winning composer whose work spans opera, pop, electronic music, film scoring, and experimental genres. Her compositions have been performed around the globe at venues as large as Carnegie Hall and as intimate as Birdland.
Hevner has composed music for national advertising campaigns including GEICO, as well as numerous independent films and productions for the BBC. Her solo opera and film, The Raven, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, has received awards and official selections at dozens of international film festivals, including honors for Best Score, and was listed in Opera News and London Classical Review as a Best of the Year recording.
She served as Composer-in-Residence for the New York City–based Metropolis Opera Project, where she composed several full-length and one-act contemporary operas performed throughout NYC. Her work has been featured in gallery and interdisciplinary performance spaces, connecting her work with visual arts and dance. She is an active composer for the music licensing library Fliktrax.
Hevner wrote music for and collaborated on Miraculous Relationships, a project of Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra. She was Head Music Producer for Spotify’s U.S. Sound Up podcast Can I Kiss You?
She holds degrees from the Esther Boyer School of Music at Temple University, The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in New York City.
